New Members Ministry

Our Mission

The New Members Ministry fosters the mission of the church in helping new members to feel welcome in their new church family and to become actively involved in the life of the church.

Our goal is to assist new members in their spiritual growth and development, as they assume the responsibility of actively serving the Lord

We prepare new members through an orientation program that presents the history, mission, vision, organization structure, ministries, programs and activities of the church.

2 Peter 1:5-8 (New Living Translation)

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Programs

Our programs are designed to encourage new members to become informed, involved, and connected members of First Baptist Church Cherry Hill.

Orientation Class

The New Members Ministry leads the orientation class for new members. The class is held once a month and includes discussions on the history of the church, articles of faith, ordinances, principles of Christian stewardship, and spiritual gifts. New members get to fellowship with each other and our class teachers during this lively discussion time.

New Members Fellowship

Once an individual or family is received (walk down the aisle when the doors of the church are opened to join) they are a member of the New Members Fellowship. The New Members Fellowship Group was founded to provide a format for new members to come together and share experiences, concerns, ideas, and expectations. They also receive information and assistance in fully engaging with the church and their own spiritual growth as a member.

Spiritual Gifts

The New Members Ministry also supports members in understanding their Spiritual Gifts. If you are looking for Spiritual Gift resources (survey and guide), please stop by the Church Office for copies.

If you would like to reach a member of the New Members Ministry, please contact the church office and they will provide you with the appropriate contact information. Or, you can leave a voice mail on this number for new members – 123-456-7890.
